HERITAGE ALERT – Darling Point Society Objection

Notification received from Heritage NSW, Community Engagement, Department of Premier and Cabinet:

Advising NSW Heritage Office has introduced new rules for allowing changes to heritage-listed heritage items including Rushcutters Bay Park coming into effect on 1 December 2020.

The Darling Point Society on behalf of the residents objects to these rules:

  1. No adequate consultation has occurred. They take affect 1st December 2020.

  2. They allow changes of a "minor" nature, a term which is not defined.

  3. They seem to anticipate bulldozers moving in without any notice or rights of appeal

These rules lack clarity and create uncertainty and will traduce our heritage.

We request they be revoked and put on public exhibition for comment for 21 days.

Please contact the following to express your concern and asking for them to be revoked.
