Over the weekend, the Minns government announced plans to scrap the demolition of our Powerhouse Museum, opting instead for a heritage revitalisation.
This is a fantastic outcome for our community. It comes after almost 2,000 people signed the petition to save the Powerhouse museum.
Refurbishing rather than re-building the museum will also save almost $250 million dollars. This money can now go back into vital services for our community.
By working together, our community has been able to save the Powerhouse museum, and ensure that it will be enjoyed for generations to come.
