What personal information is being collected?
Personal information and membership related information about you is being collected by the DPS. For example (to the extent applicable and without limitation), name, address, phone number and email. Also, some ‘yes’ or ‘no’ tick in box data may be collected. For example, do you like walking or picnicking in the Darling Point and surrounding park areas?
Purpose of Collection

The DPS collects personal information, including DPS membership and campaign related information, about you in order to provide DPS memberships, send you surveys and campaign information relating to local matters of interest to the DPS and its members, such as particular council projects.

Use of Personal Information

The DPS will only use your personal information that it collects about you to process and provide you with a DPS membership or invite you to participate in local surveys or campaigns relating to local projects. For example, the DPS may email you to ask if you would like to renew your DPS membership or ask if you would like to undertake a local survey relating to local environmental matters.

Who will the DPS disclose your personal information to?

The DPS will disclose your personal information to DPS committee members for membership related purposes. Also, with your prior written consent, the DPS may disclose your personal information (such as name, address and phone number) to the NSW Parliament for petition purposes, as evidence that you have signed a petition and that such petition is genuine and not made up. Such petitions may be tabled and filed in the NSW Parliament’s archives. The DPS will not store or disclose your personal information outside Australia.

Will the DPS use collected personal information for marketing purposes?

If you opt in, we may at a later stage send you information about the DPS and its upcoming events and projects.
Your Rights
You have a right to access the personal information that the DPS holds about you, to correct that personal information and to make a complaint about the DPS’s handling of personal information.
